An Update from the Luff House

 From Madam Alice:

Afternoon Everyone,

we know that we have been very lax in our posts over the last 12 months, and for some people we have been very poor in our communication and responses to emails, for this we and particularly I am very sorry.

while we have made the excuse of the change of job, house move and our renovations - and these have been all true through to the end of 2025, the major issue that has now become obvious to me is that Mick/ billie hasn't been very well.

As many of you know he has had an ongoing health issue but we believed that we had that all in hand and managed with his weight loss, change of diet and also the retirement to reduce stress and also the strain of travelling.  We believed that all of this had things levelled out and the blood tests showed that we were starting to stabilise the condition

The problem is that Mick has continued to loose weight, more that the specialists would like, and while losing 6 inches from his waist is good, it is more that he was asked to do.  Also his energy levels have crashed and he is constantly tired.

The problem was that he has been driving himself hard to do work at our new home and while we believed that this work may be the cause of him being extremely tired at the end of each day, it appears that it isn't and that there is a bit more to it than that - more blood tests have been done, he has been told to rest and to try and get some more weight back on - and keep it back on.  The aim is to get his body back in balance and physical energy back on an even keel, it is proving a challenge for him.  I'm working from home a bit more to keep and eye on him and he has been banned from doing jobs and tasks for my family as they were consuming a significant amount of his time and energy, event to the point that he almost had an accident coming back home after helping a family member due to being so tired and drained.

To that end for the last month or so he has been put on enforced rest, slowing things down for him and also try and adjust make him feel and be better.

Sometimes I do despair with him but at other time I am always surprised how much he will commit to help others often to his own detriment, well yet again I have put my foot down to try get him to focus on himself and to accept that sometime he needs to selfishly focused on himself so that he has a quality of life and quality of health.  It will be a bit of a journey for him and us, but hopefully we can get him on the road to improvement.

Thanks to all of you if you have stayed with us and if you are expecting emails and responses you now know why there has been a bit of a delay or silence.

I hope that you will understand and please be patient with us.

Alice
